Warga desa Sikar, Rajasthan, India bagian barat penasaran melihat banyak monyet berkerumun di tepi sumur. Mereka melihat ke dalam sumur namun warga tidak tahu apa yang mereka temukan di dalam sumur tersebut. Warga kemudian mendekati sumur untuk menjawab rasa penasaran akibat para monyet yang berkerumun di atas sumur tersebut.

Laporan dailymail.co.uk (19/6/2018) menyebutkan, warga akhirnya mengetahui bahwa di dalam sumur sedalam 7,6 meter tersebut, terdapat seekor macan tutul tenggelam. Untuk memberitahu warga, monyet-monyet itu terus terusan berteriak dan melompat di tepi sumur di belakang kuil di Sikar, Rajasthan. Warga kemudian langsung mencari bantuan dengan menghubungi pejabat kehutanan setempat.

Misi penyelamatan pun kemudian dilakukan oleh pihak kehutanan menggunakan tangga. Setelah beberapa kali mencoba, macan tutul itu akhirnya mampu menggenggam tangga, dan menggunakannya untuk memanjat keluar dari sumur. 'Operasi penyelamatan yang dilakukan pada 11 Juni pagi itu dilaporkan berlangsung selama hampir satu jam.
